Kinect and sandbox make topography model interactive

This is a pretty neat use of Microsoft’s Kinect system. It analyzes the sandbox below to measure the elevation of the sand piles. If it goes below (scaled) sea level, then it fills that area with water. If a mountain is built, the vegetation coloring reflects its height.
