Microsoft updates their logo
Following the trends of the Windows 8 logo that was revealed earlier this year, the Microsoft logo has received a face lift after 25 years of brand recognition. It features the softer font and the square Windows logo. Microsoft’s new logo coincides with their new company angle with products like the Microsoft Surface, Windows 8, X-Box, and Windows Phone.

The logo has two components: the logotype and the symbol. For the logotype, we are using the Segoe font which is the same font we use in our products as well as our marketing communications. The symbol is important in a world of digital motion (as demonstrated in the video above.) The symbol’s squares of color are intended to express the company’s diverse portfolio of products.
Expect to start seeing the new logo in commercials, Microsoft stores, and anywhere else.
