Finally, a Plants Vs Zombies sequel announced for late Spring 2013

PopCap, the makers of popular games like Bejeweled, Bookworm, and Plants vs Zombies, was purchased by Electronic Arts and it seemed to stifle new products from the developer besides porting games to iOS and Android platforms. Finally, a sequel has been announced for my favorite of their games, Plants Vs. Zombies. The game is set to arrive first half of 2013 or late Spring 2013. It’s great to see them doing something with the intellectual property beyond just signing merchandising and licensing deals.

The successor to the tower defense game is said to include a number of new features, settings, and situations. The byline states there will be “hordes of new plant and zombie types”. Amongst all the plant puns, not much else is known but it seems the developers have been able to maintain their sense of humor since Plants Vs. Zombies first debuted on PC and Mac in May, 2009.

“Spring is ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots,” noted an unidentified spokesperson. “So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to plan… we’re freee anytime. We’ll find you.”

“There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning,” said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. “But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!”
