Curiosity will have 7 minutes of terror landing on Mars

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has made a compelling video sharing some details of the Curiosity Mars Rover’s plan to land. The signal from Mars takes 14 minutes to reach Earth. From the top of the atmosphere, it takes 7 minutes for the craft to land. Once NASA receives word that they have reached the top of the atmosphere, the rover will have been on the planet for 7 minutes already. Solving a number of problems through engineering, the project is very fascinating… and that’s only the landing.

The rover will land at 10:30PM PDT on August 5th.
