Codename “Server 8″ officially named Windows Server 2012

Along with the Windows 8 SKUs for workstations, Microsoft corporate Vice President Brad Anderson announced during the Microsoft Management Summit that codename ‘Windows 8 Server’ is officially named Windows Server 2012.

It was also confirmed that the software is on schedule for a launch this Autumn.

Other news from the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas is the availability of System Center 2012 or as they’re branding it, “Microsoft Private Cloud”. The System Center 2012 RTM evaluation download is available from Microsoft’s TechNet.
