Black in America CNN Special, The Promised Land – Silicon Valley

CNN’s 4th season of their special Black in America┬ápremiers tonight and it focuses on the lack of diversity in Silicon Valley. Specifically, a start-up accelerator will put 8 entrepreneurs together in one house to find their investment for their startup.

Profiles would-be black tech entrepreneurs as they search for financing for their start-ups in Silicon Valley. Soledad O’Brien focuses on Mountain View, California “accelerator” program that offers guidance to eight entrepreneurs, ranging in age from 25 to 46.

Silicon Valley’s startup scene is mostly young, male and white. In response, the NewMe incubator brought eight black entrepreneurs together for a two-month immersion in San Francisco. Watch how it turns out in Soledad O’Brien’s documentary, “Black in America: The New Promised Land – Silicon Valley,” at 8 p.m. Eastern time, tonight.
